SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Clifford Hamilton, who passed away on
4December 3, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Clifford Hamilton was born in Matthews, Missouri
6to Tommy and Rebecca Hamilton in 1940; he was educated at
7Calderon Elementary School and Lilbourn High School in
8Lilbourn, Missouri, where he was an outstanding athlete in
9basketball; he relocated to Chicago and later to Joliet, where
10he met and married Zola Bennett; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Clifford Hamilton retired from Commonwealth
12Edison after 30 years of service and the City of Joliet after
1310 years of service; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Clifford Hamilton was a long-time member of the
15Mt. Zion Baptist Church; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Clifford Hamilton was preceded in death by his
17parents, Tommy and Rebecca Hamilton-Williams (Alexander
18Williams); his brothers, Alfred and Jack Hamilton; his sister,
19Delores Bell; his daughters, Adelina and Carolyn; his sons,
20Lonnie and Eurlee; his granddaughters, London George and
21Krystle Williams; and his sons-in-law, Billie and Benny; and

1    WHEREAS, Clifford Hamilton is survived by his wife, Zola;
2his sons, Christopher (Angie) and Craig Hamilton; his
3daughters, Landra Phelps, Sandra Steward (Michael), Detra
4Williams, Anntonette Hamilton-Williams, Kimberly Veasy
5(Stephen), Connie Ellis, and Tracy McCullum (Weems Jr.); 28
6grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; four
7great-great-grandchildren; his sisters-in-law, Virgie April
8and Ruby (Donald) Burton; and his brother-in-law, Harvey
9Bennett (Myrdes); therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Clifford Hamilton and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Clifford Hamilton as an expression
17of our deepest sympathy.
