SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Maurice R. Poling of Rock Island, who passed away on November 26, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Maurice Poling was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Ralph and Edna Schaefer Poling on September 10, 1932; he graduated from the Indiana Institute of Technology as an electrical engineer; he married Norma J. Glick in Fort Wayne on July 11, 1953; and

WHEREAS, Maurice Poling retired from the Louis Allis Company, where he worked as a sales engineer; and

WHEREAS, Maurice Poling was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict; he was a volunteer for the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center and had been a Boy Scout leader; he enjoyed woodworking, bird watching, sports, and music; he especially loved his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Maurice Poling was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jerry Poling; and

WHEREAS, Maurice Poling is survived by his wife, Norma; his sons, Randy (Laura) Poling, Ron (Aleksandra) Poling, Rick (Kim) Poling, Kevin Poling, and Kent (Vickie) Poling; his 12 grandchildren; his step-grandchildren; his great-grandchildren; his great-great-grandchildren; and his stepsister, Nancy Snow; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Maurice R. Poling and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Maurice Poling as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
