SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Maurice R. Poling of Rock Island, who
4passed away on November 26, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Maurice Poling was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana to
6Ralph and Edna Schaefer Poling on September 10, 1932; he
7graduated from the Indiana Institute of Technology as an
8electrical engineer; he married Norma J. Glick in Fort Wayne on
9July 11, 1953; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Maurice Poling retired from the Louis Allis
11Company, where he worked as a sales engineer; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Maurice Poling was a United States Army veteran of
13the Korean Conflict; he was a volunteer for the Mississippi
14Valley Regional Blood Center and had been a Boy Scout leader;
15he enjoyed woodworking, bird watching, sports, and music; he
16especially loved his grandchildren; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Maurice Poling was preceded in death by his
18parents and his brother, Jerry Poling; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Maurice Poling is survived by his wife, Norma; his
20sons, Randy (Laura) Poling, Ron (Aleksandra) Poling, Rick (Kim)

1Poling, Kevin Poling, and Kent (Vickie) Poling; his 12
2grandchildren; his step-grandchildren; his
3great-grandchildren; his great-great-grandchildren; and his
4stepsister, Nancy Snow; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Maurice R. Poling and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Maurice Poling as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
