SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Stanley D. "Stan" Larson of Moline, who passed away on November 28, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Stan Larson was born in Moline to Donald R. and Viola J. (Peterson) Larson on March 7, 1938; he served in the U.S. Air Force and married Marsha A. Winthurst at Watertown Baptist Church on January 14, 1960; and

WHEREAS, Stan Larson worked for the Augustana Bookstore, DeSaulniers, and Mid-American Energy; and

WHEREAS, Stan Larson was a member of Wildwood Church; he enjoyed being outdoors, camping, and golfing; he was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs; he loved being with his family and being an involved grandparent; and

WHEREAS, Stan Larson was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Vernette Larson; and his stepsister, Rita Smith; and

WHEREAS, Stan Larson is survived by his wife, Marsha; his children, Julie (Gary) Overmire, Scott (Kathy) Larson, Karen (Dane) Howell, and Leanne (Todd) Larison; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Stanley D. "Stan" Larson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Stan Larson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
