SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mildred Greathouse of Edwardsville,
4formerly of Granite City, who passed away on October 20, 2018;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Mildred Greathouse was born in Brewer, Missouri to
7Leo Andrew and Mary Verdella (Hager) Hagan on August 19, 1926;
8she married Walter "Shang" Greathouse in St. Louis, Missouri on
9July 31 1948; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Mildred Greathouse joined the Phi Tau Omega
11Philanthropic Sorority in 1951; she was a faithful member of
12the Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville; she
13was also a member of St. Elizabeth's Altar Society, the St.
14Mary's Ladies Guild, and the Granite City Elkettes; she was a
15charter member of the Sunset Hills County Club and a Rotarian;
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, Mildred Greathouse loved life and loved to laugh;
18most of all, she loved her family; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Mildred Greathouse was preceded in death by her
20parents; her husband, Walter; her daughter, Carol Greathouse;
21and her siblings, Lilburn Leo Hagan, Melvin Andrew Hagan, Mary

1Verona Monroe, Rita Delora Wood, and Naomi Marie Hagan; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Mildred Greathouse is survived by her sons, Walter
3"Shang" (Jan) Greathouse Jr., Brian Greathouse, and Scott
4(Terri) Greathouse; her grandchildren, Walter (Amanda)
5Greathouse III, Michael (Ashlei) Greathouse, Kelly (Eric)
6Barns, Danielle Greathouse, and Shane Greathouse; her
7great-grandchildren, Walter Greathouse IV, Jackson Greathouse,
8and Riley Barns; and her many nieces, nephews, and extended
9family and friends; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Mildred Greathouse and extend our sincere condolences to her
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Mildred Greathouse as an expression
17of our deepest sympathy.
