SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Erlinda Palacio Nunag of Waukegan, who passed away on September 20, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Erlinda Nunag was a native of Malolos, Bulacan Province, Philippines; and

WHEREAS, Erlinda Nunag was well known as the co-owner of the Waukegan Oriental Store, where she worked, socialized, and built community for over 35 years; and

WHEREAS, Erlinda Nunag had a green thumb, and one of her greatest joys was cultivating and caring for her flower and vegetable gardens; she will be remembered for her wit, fashion sense, and incredible cooking; and

WHEREAS, Erlinda Nunag was preceded in death by her husband, Donato, and her grandson, Steven Nunag Hicks; and

WHEREAS, Erlinda Nunag is survived by her children, Alice Nunag, Norman Nunag, and Jocelyn Nunag Hicks; her grandchildren, Jasmin Flaminia, Shaun Nunag, Michelle Nunag, Candace Nunag Tardio, and Cindy Nunag; her many great-grandchildren; and her godchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Erlinda Palacio Nunag and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Erlinda Nunag as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
