SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert Oren Montgomery of Brighton, who passed away on July 26, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Robert Montgomery was born in Alton on May 17, 1970; his father and stepmother are Robert and Gloria (Ament) Montgomery, and his mother is Kathleen (Blair) Hampton; he married Donna McAfee in Bunker Hill on November 2, 1990; and

WHEREAS, Robert Montgomery operated Montgomery Trucking and Landscaping; he also worked at the Waldbart Nursery in Bunker Hill for 26 years and for The Village of Brighton for five years; and

WHEREAS, Robert Montgomery was a member of the Teamsters Local 525; and

WHEREAS, Robert Montgomery was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Lucy (Manar) Ament, Robert and Pauline (Smith) Montgomery, and Ernie and Aggie (Wendle) Blair; his nephew, Clifford McAfee Jr.; his father-in-law, Pete McAfee; and his brother-in-law, Donald McAfee; and

WHEREAS, Robert Montgomery is survived by his sons, Jonathon and Joshua Montgomery; and his brothers, George Benke and Anthony (Erin) Montgomery; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert Oren Montgomery and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Montgomery as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
