SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Brett K. Mense of Taylorville, who passed away on June 7, 2018; and

WHEREAS, Brett Mense was born in Taylorville to Larry and Sharon (Hunt) Mense on March 9, 1961; he married Laurie Kenny in Springfield on March 15, 1985; and

WHEREAS, Brett Mense was an inventory analyst at ADM in Decatur; he traveled extensively with his job and formed friendships around the world; and

WHEREAS, Brett Mense was an active member of the community; he loved all sports and spent many years playing and coaching baseball and softball; he knew no strangers and always had a smile, a laugh, or a helping hand for those in need; and

WHEREAS, Brett Mense was preceded in death by his grandparents, Tony and Sis Hunt and Henry and Irene Mense; his great-uncle, Ed Smith; and his uncles, Davey and Duane Hunt; and

WHEREAS, Brett Mense is survived by his wife, Laurie; his sons, Brett and Kyle Mense; his grandpuppies, Elle, Lucy, and Gus; his parents; his sister, Rhonda Mense; and his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Brett K. Mense and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Brett Mense as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
