SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dorothy E. "Dottie" Kane of Godfrey, who
4passed away on May 26, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dottie Kane was born in Alton to Louis and
6Margaret (Shannon) Begnel on August 24, 1930; she graduated
7from Marquette Catholic High School; she married T. Patrick
8Kane on August 11, 1951; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Before marrying Pat, Dottie Kane worked for the
10telephone company; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Dottie Kane was devoted to her faith and her
12family; her home was always open to family and friends, and
13there was always plenty of food and drink; she was a gracious
14host, who relished big family occasions and dinners; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Dottie Kane was preceded in death by her parents;
16her husband, Pat; her brother, Don Begnel; and her sister,
17Martha Fosha; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Dottie Kane is survived by her children and their
19spouses, Mary Ellen and Pat Richards, Tom and Janet Kane, John
20and Joan Kane, Beth and Rob Holtz, and Chris and Nici Kane; her

1grandchildren, Amy Fahnestock, Patrick Kane, David Kane, Matt
2Richards, Mary Mauro, Joe Kane, Jack Kane, Kate Holtz, Danny
3Holtz, Michael Holtz, Ellie Kane, Annie Kate Kane, and Chloe
4Kane; her 14 great-grandchildren; her sister, Margie Dey; her
5brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mike and Joyce Kane; and her
6many nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Dorothy E. "Dottie" Kane and extend our sincere condolences to
10her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Dottie Kane as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
