SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Michael Lee Frye of Rosewood Heights, who
4passed away on May 15, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Michael Frye was born in St. Louis, Missouri to
6George and June (Villinger) Ogilive on September 6, 1944; a
7veteran of the United States Army, he served in Germany from
81967 until 1968; he graduated from the Vocational Technical
9Institute in Carbondale and then worked for Shell Oil for 25
10years before retiring in 1995; he also owned Frye Upholstery in
11Rosewood Heights; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Michael Frye served on the Board of Directors for
13Midwest Members Credit Union for 38 years, including 29 as the
14Chairman; he was a member of the State CUPAC Board, where he
15was the current treasurer; he was a founding member of the
16Downs Syndrome Association of Southern Illinois; he was also a
17member of the Wood River Masonic Lodge #1062 and very active in
18DeMolay; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Michael Frye had a passion for motor sports and
20spent many years racing dirt bikes at Splinter Creek Motorcycle
21Club and his own cars with the Sports Car Club of America; he
22was active in the FBI Car Club and a member of the Piasa Street

2    WHEREAS, Michael Frye was preceded in death by his parents
3and his brother-in-law, Jerry Ehlers; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Michael Frye is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his
5daughters, Jill (David) Oller and Cory Frye; his grandchild,
6Riley Oller; his sisters-in-law, Marsha Ehlers and Mila
7Biermann; his sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Dave
8Youngberg; and his dear friend, Bev Thomas; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Michael Lee Frye and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Michael Frye as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
