SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Pamela Woods; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Pamela Woods was born in Chicago to Henry Lee and
5Carolyn Ann Woods on May 5, 1962; she graduated from Simeon
6Vocational High School in 1984 and attended Truman College; she
7married Juan Walker Sr. on June 1, 2002; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Pamela Woods had a 28-year career with the Cook
9County Sheriff's Office, most recently in the Ex-Ops
10Department; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Pamela Woods was always thinking of others; she
12organized blood drives and numerous fundraisers, and managed
13Elementary School District 159's Christmas toy, clothes, and
14coat drives; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Pamela Woods held seats on the boards of several
16organizations, including as Director-at-Large for the Illinois
17School Board; she served as Vice-President for Elementary
18School District 159, most recently she served as the Board's
19secretary; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Pamela Woods was preceded in death by her parents;

2    WHEREAS, Pamela Woods is survived by her husband, Juan; her
3sons, Charles Conway, and Juan Walker Jr.; her daughters,
4Lillian Brown, Samantha Brown, and Tyler Walker; her
5grandchildren, Charles III, Jahzara, Jasim, and one on the way,
6Ziyaan; her sisters, Sonya (Michael) Norwood, and Lisa (Julius)
7Freeman-Walker; her brother, Henry Lee Woods IV; and many
8nieces, nephews, other family, and friends; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Pamela Woods, and extend our sincere condolences to her family,
12friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Pamela Woods as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
