SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Clyde J. Jones of Franklin, who passed
4away on February 24, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Clyde Jones was born in Wilton Center to Marshall
6Hall and Edith Ema Elizabeth Schroeder Jones on February 8,
71925; he graduated from Joliet Central High School; he served
8as a navigator in the United States Air Force During World War
9II; he married Geraldine "Jerry" V. Good in Joliet on December
1022, 1946; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Clyde Jones and his wife owned and operated
12Fitzer's Frostie Ice Cream Stand during the summers in Joliet
13for several years; during the winter season, he built homes;
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, After retiring, Clyde Jones and his wife moved to
16Lake Isabella, California, where he continued to build houses;
17they later returned to Illinois to be closer to their children;
18he was a member of the Church of Christ in Lake Isabella,
19California and the Herrin Church of Christ in Herrin, Illinois;
20and
 
21    WHEREAS, Clyde Jones was preceded in death by his parents;

1his wife, Jerry; his sister, Alice Pettys; and his brother,
2Carey Jones; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Clyde Jones is survived by his children, Jackie
4Godfrey and Patti (Paul) Turpin; his grandchildren, Shirene
5(Dustin) Garner and Paul Jon (Ashley) Turpin; his
6great-grandchildren, Avery, Ryker, Elliott, and Hadley; his
7sister, Martha Mealey; and his many nieces and nephews;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Clyde J. Jones and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Clyde Jones as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
