SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of George F. Szostak of Wadsworth, who passed away on March 2, 2018; and

WHEREAS, George Szostak was born in Waukegan to Frank and Mary (Wrona) Szostak on September 21, 1931; he served in the United States Navy and married Nancy Guy; he married Eva Stuck in 1979; and

WHEREAS, George Szostak. along with his wife, Eva, owned and operated The Gurnee Country Store and Homestyle Laundromat until 1997; and

WHEREAS, George Szostak was a long standing member of the Church of St. Patrick in Wadsworth; and

WHEREAS, George Szostak was preceded in death by his parents; his sons, Tom and Terry; his brothers, Larry, Ed, Ray, and Carl; his first wife, Nancy; and his second wife, Eva; and

WHEREAS, George Szostak is survived by his son, William (Debbie) Szostak; his stepsons, Richard and Ronald (Sandy) Stuck; his sister, Jean Belski; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jim and Virginia Kutzler; his grandchildren, Brandi (Ed) Myslewiec, Shari (Brian) Green, Johnny (Katie) Szostak, Shawn (Sarah) Toso, Reid Stuck, and Rien Stuck; his great-grandchildren, Tommy, Easton, Gavin, and Calen; and numerous other family members; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of George F. Szostak, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of George Szostak as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
