SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William Charles "Chuck" Reed, who passed
4away on April 1, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles Reed was born in Millington, Tennessee to
6Ionia Grant and Rufus Lamar Reed on March 1, 1956; he attended
7Thornton Township High School and then transferred to Bremen;
8he married Juliet Reed in 1988; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Charles Reed began his career working in the
10housekeeping department of Ingalls Health System; his hard work
11and dedication to serving others helped him get promoted to
12maintenance and engineering; he worked for Ingalls for 13 years
13and then moved on to various other industrial management roles;
14and
 
15    WHEREAS, Charles Reed enjoyed traveling, sporting events,
16concerts, and music; he took pride in his appearance and was
17know for his sense of fashion; he had a deep commitment to his
18family, was a loving father, and a loyal friend; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Charles Reed was preceded in death by his father;
20his grandmother, Earline Townsend; his grandfather, Dorsey
21Townsend; his brother, Kevin Grand; and his niece, Monica Reed;

2    WHEREAS, Charles Reed is survived by his mother; his
3daughter, Deandra Reed; his former wife and friend, Juliet
4Reed; his stepdaughters, Kerry-Ann and Cherice; his sisters,
5Linda (Marvin) Reed-Johnson and Georgia Grant; his brothers,
6Edward Long-Grant, Michael Long-Grant, and Michael
7Holden-Grant; his nephew, Marvin (Alvina) Reed; his aunt,
8Deloris Townsend; and his many cousins, great-nephews, and
9friends; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12William Charles "Chuck" Reed and extend our sincere condolences
13to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
14it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Charles Reed as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
