SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John J. Driscoll of Fairview Heights, who passed away on January 7, 2017; and

WHEREAS, John Driscoll was born in East St. Louis to Judge John Joseph and Mary Agnes (Lynch) Driscoll on April 3, 1940; he graduated from St. Philip's Grade School, Assumption High School, and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville; he served in the United States Air Force and married Doris Thien on September 22, 2005; and

WHEREAS, John Driscoll served St. Clair County in the Probation Office; he also served on its Board of Review and as its Auditor; and

WHEREAS, John Driscoll belonged to many civic, social, and political organizations, including the Belleville Chamber of Commerce, the Knights of Columbus, and the Ancient Order of Hibernians; and

WHEREAS, John Driscoll was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Patricia Sue Driscoll; his sister, Elizabeth Driscoll; his brother, Robert Driscoll; his aunts, Kate (Frank) Doyle, Nonie (Harry) Wall, Eileen (Robert) Hanson, Joanne (Charles) Schaeffer, Ginger Brummer, Helen Lynch, Peg (Jack) Broderick, and Mary Jane (Daniel) Mongan; and his brother-in-law, Robert Cadagin; and

WHEREAS, John Driscoll is survived by his wife, Doris; her children, Scott Rensing, and Robin (Gary) Griesbaum; her grandchildren, Kaela Rensing, Drake Rensing, Megan Griesbaum, and Tyler Griesbaum; his son, John Joseph Driscoll IV (Katherine Lea Morris); his grandchildren, John "JJ" Driscoll, Patrick Driscoll, Ryan Driscoll, and Donovan Driscoll; his sisters, Margaret Cadagin, Dorothy (Dr. Marion) Panepinto, Sister Sharon Maureen "Marilyn" Driscoll SSND, Cathy (John) Haunschild, Maureen (Rick) Wylie, and Sharon Miller Carney; his brother, Michael "Mike" Driscoll; his uncle, Paul Brummer; and his nieces and nephews, Colleen Cadagin, Tim Cadagin, Daniel Cadagin, Kevin Cadagin, Celeste Panepinto Marsh, Dr. Julie Panepinto Brousseau, Michele Panepinto Mannion, Ellen Panepinto Meyer, Stephanie Driscoll Barton, Lenny Driscoll, Steve Haunschild, Jennifer Haunschild Ulmer, Lori Wylie Carrozza, Mark Wylie, Tricia Wylie, Graham Miller, and Jesse Carney; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John J. Driscoll, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John Driscoll as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
