SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Timmy "Tim" Lee Nelson of Carrollton, who
4passed away on January 16, 2018; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Tim Nelson was born in Alton to Paul B. Nelson Jr.
6and Nancy Carol (Guffey) Forsythe on August 7, 1975; he
7attended Civic Memorial High School, and then transferred to
8Calhoun High School, where he was a player on the 1992 Calhoun
9Warrior State Football Championship Team, and graduated in
101993; he graduated from ITT Technical School in 1997; he
11married Casey Scott in Destin, Florida on May 11, 2013; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Tim Nelson was employed as a client implementation
13specialist at Thompson Reuters; in 2008, he was named head
14football coach at Marquette Catholic High School in Alton; he
15then served as the head football coach at Dupo High School; in
162013, he returned home to Calhoun High School and served as the
17assistant football coach until the time of his passing; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Tim Nelson inspired others with his
19determination; his son and wife were the light of his life; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Tim Nelson was preceded in death by his mother,
21Carol Forsythe; his father-in-law, Albert W. Scott III; his

1stepsister, Shelly Forsythe; and his grandparents; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Tim Nelson is survived by his father; his wife,
3Casey; his son, Crew Albert Nelson; his brother and
4sister-in-law, Paul B. and Emy Nelson III; his stepbrother,
5James Forsythe; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dennis
6and Michelle LaMarsh; his nephew, Paul B. Nelson IV; and his
7nieces, Mackenzie and Adalynn LaMarsh; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Timmy "Tim" Lee Nelson and extend our sincere condolences to
11his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Tim Nelson as an expression of our
15deepest sympathy.
