HOUSE RESOLUTION

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that the Health and Financial Impact of Gun Violence Task Force is hereby created to study the health and financial impact that gun violence has on the lives of citizens of Illinois and to determine if gun violence is a state health crisis; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall consist of the following members, who shall serve without compensation:

(1) 6 members of the House of Representatives, 3 appointed by the Speaker of the House and 3 appointed by the Minority Leader of the House;

(2) 2 members of the business community, 1 appointed by the Speaker of the House and 1 appointed by the Minority Leader of the House; and

(3) 2 members of the health care community, 1 appointed by the Speaker of the House and 1 appointed by the Minority Leader of the House; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the members of the Task Force shall select a chairperson from amongst its members and determine the number and schedule of meetings; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Illinois Department of Public Health shall provide administrative support; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the report filed with the Clerk of the House of Representatives shall be provided to the Clerk in electronic form only, in the manner that the Clerk shall direct; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Task Force shall provide its report to the House of Representatives on or before January 9, 2019, and upon the filing of its report, the Task Force is dissolved.
