HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to recognize the life and service of Rev. Joseph P. "Joe" Hill; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Hill is one of the most popular teachers at the Power Circle Institute, the teaching component of the Power Circle Congregation, founded by him in 1996; his unique and dynamic style of speaking, training, and lecturing is unsurpassed; and

WHEREAS, Previously, Rev. Hill was a senior training consultant for AT&T Corporate Education and Training in Chicago; he began his career with AT&T in 1979 as an account executive in the major financial markets; for several years, he was recognized as one of the top 5% of the AT&T Achievers Club, a sales group where members must sell at least $3-10 million dollars per year; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Hill's extraordinary talents and skills as a teacher and motivator come from his background as a pupil and educator; he was a teacher and principal in the St. Louis and Chicago Public School Systems; he holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Harris-Stowe College, a Master of Arts in Urban Studies from Northeastern Illinois University, an Administrative Certification from Chicago State University, and a Master of Arts in Political Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago; he has completed the core curriculum in the doctoral program in political science from the University of Illinois at Chicago and has finalized his doctorate degree in business management from Columbia Pacific University; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Hill has been an active member of the national March of Dimes Foundation Training Team, where he helped to establish programs to address teenage pregnancy, infant mortality, and infant morbidity in Los Angeles, Kansas City, and Columbus; he has volunteered his time and talent speaking to students throughout the country and for national youth organizations, including Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and the Boy Scouts of America; and

WHEREAS, Rev. Hill authors books, inspirational essays, poems, and speeches that are shared at seminars, meetings, workshops, and conferences; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize the life and service of Rev. Joseph P. "Joe" Hill, and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Rev. Hill as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
