SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Charles V. Falkenberg, Jr., who passed away on August 30, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Charles Falkenberg, Jr. enjoyed Notre Dame Football and never missed a Fighting Irish home game in 72 years; he also enjoyed laying in his easy chair with 2 televisions on at the same time, one with sports and one with Law and Order reruns and countless VHS tapes of old Notre Dame games, and spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, Charles Falkenberg, Jr. was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary; a son-in-law, John; a sister, Helen; and a granddaughter, Colleen; and

WHEREAS, Charles Falkenberg, Jr. is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Ann; 10 children, Catherine (Marvin), Grace, Susan (Mark), Charlie, III (Lizzie), Bob (Helen), Tom (Christine), Marty, Lisa (Mike), and Joe (Katie); a sister, Wanda; 26 grandchildren, Angela, MC (Kelly), Rebecca, Rachel, Brian, Meghan, Will, Shannon, Erika, Bobby, Tommy, Danny, Patrick, Kevin, Ryan, Teddy, Jake, Jessica, Matthew, Maddie, Keira, Caitlin, Charlie, Emma, and Annie; and his many nieces, nephews, friends, other family members; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Charles V. Falkenberg, Jr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Charles Falkenberg, Jr. as an expression of our sympathy.
