SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Roscoe Haymon, Sr. of Rock Island, who
4passed away on August 26, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Roscoe Haymon, Sr. was born in Blytheville,
6Arkansas on December 28, 1921 to Albert and Lillian (nee White)
7Haymon; he served in the United States Air Corps during World
8War II and married Earnestine Howard on May 8, 1949 in
9Robertson, Missouri; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Roscoe Haymon, Sr. retired from American Air
11Filter in Moline, where he was a painter and forklift operator;
12during retirement, he worked as a bus driver for Project NOW;
13and
 
14    WHEREAS, Roscoe Haymon, Sr. was an active member of the
15church, serving as deacon and singing in the choir; he was a
16fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and enjoyed spending time with
17his family; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Roscoe Haymon, Sr. was preceded in death by his
19wife, Earnestine; his sister, Ruth Johnson; and his brothers,
20Cleophus, Edward, Lucious, and John Tyler "J.T." Johnson and
21Andrew and Wallee Haymon; and

1    WHEREAS, Roscoe Haymon, Sr. is survived by his 6 children,
2Geraldine McDonald, Roscoe Haymon, Jr., Marvin Haymon, Brenda
3Bragg-Harris and her husband, Chuck, Maurice Haymon, and Renaud
4Haymon; his 12 grandchildren; his 15 great-grandchildren; and
5many nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Roscoe Haymon, Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Roscoe Haymon, Sr. as an expression
13of our deepest sympathy.
