SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Donald Leo Callahan of Moline, who passed away on August 29, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Donald Callahan was born in Moline on August 10, 1922 to Leo and Alice (Wiedenhoeft) Callahan; he graduated from Moline High School and served in the United States Army with the 42nd Infantry Division during World War II; he married Mary Margaret Vickers on July 29, 1950 in Rock Island; and

WHEREAS, Donald Callahan was employed by Deere and Company for 37 years, retiring as Divisional Manager of Parts Catalogs in 1982; and

WHEREAS, Donald Callahan was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church; he enjoyed photography; and

WHEREAS, Donald Callahan is survived by his son, Jeff Callahan, and his 2 grandchildren, Tansome Barley and Donald J. Callahan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Donald Leo Callahan, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Donald Callahan as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
