SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Roy Albert Schmidt of Coal Valley, who passed away on August 29, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Roy Schmidt was born in Rock Island on January 26, 1948 to Roy and Laura A. Beamen Schmidt; after 2 years of service in the United States Army, he married Robin Mathias in 1973 in Moline; the couple was remarried in 2014; and

WHEREAS, Roy Schmidt worked as a mechanic for Bridgeway Auto Parts for 14 years and for Sentry Pool for 12 years; and

WHEREAS, Roy Schmidt enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Roy Schmidt was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Roy Schmidt is survived by his wife, Robin; his 2 children, Roy (Lisa) Schmidt, Jr. and Laura (Isaac) Lyon; his 5 grandchildren; his great-grandson; and his brother, Ron (Randi) Schmidt; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Roy Albert Schmidt, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Roy Schmidt as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
