SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Harry Volkman, who passed away on August 20, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Harry Volkman was born on April 18, 1926 in Medford, Massachusetts; and

WHEREAS, Harry Volkman had a meteorology career that spanned 55 years, 45 of them in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Harry Volkman's last weather forecast took place for WFLD-Channel 32 in 2004 at the age of 78; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Harry Volkman, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Harry Volkman as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
