SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lacy Kay Hood, who passed away on August 21, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Lacy Hood was born on June 8, 1999 in Muncie, Indiana; her parents are James and Kay (nee Kirkham) Hood; and

WHEREAS, Lacy Hood was the valedictorian of her class at Ewing-Northern Grade School; she was a junior at Benton Consolidated High School and a member of the volleyball team at the time of her passing; and

WHEREAS, Lacy Hood was a member of the Benton FFA and the National Honor Society; and

WHEREAS, Lacy Hood enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and sharing Christ with others; and

WHEREAS, Lacy Hood was preceded in death by her grandmother, Nancy (nee Lewis) Hood; and

WHEREAS, Lacy Hood is survived by her parents; her grandparents, Gary and Mary Jo Kirkham and Richard Hood; her aunts and uncles, Tim (Sonya) Kirkham, Perry (Lisa) Kirkham, Jennifer (John) Lowitz, Larry (Ruth) Lewis, Marilyn (nee Lewis) Dickey, and Jean (Ron) Firebaugh; her many cousins and second cousins; and her many friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Lacy Kay Hood; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lacy Hood as an expression of our sympathy.
