SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Gregory P. Burg, Jr. of Johnsburg, who passed away on July 21, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Gregory Burg, Jr. was born on December 18, 1943 in Chicago; his parents were Gregory P. and Marie (nee Meyer) Burg; he married Louise Schiller on December 4, 1965 in Crystal Lake; and

WHEREAS, Gregory Burg, Jr. served with the McHenry Police Department for 31 years, having attained the rank of sergeant; he also served as a bailiff in McHenry County for 14 years and was a former member of the Johnsburg Rescue Squad; and

WHEREAS, Gregory Burg, Jr. enjoyed camping; and

WHEREAS, Gregory Burg, Jr. was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald Burg; and

WHEREAS, Gregory Burg, Jr. is survived by his wife, Louise; 3 children, Denise Burg, Michael Burg, and Jennifer (Kenneth) King; 8 grandchildren, Robyn Neff, Christina (Jake) Grizley, Ashley Roth, Tyler Burg, Ryan Burg, Kevin McHaney, Sydney King, and Leigha Malone; 3 great-grandchildren, Deja Luckey and Alexander and Justin Grizley; and 2 sisters, Bonnie Morris and Peggy (John) Hoeppner; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Gregory P. Burg, Jr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gregory Burg, Jr. as an expression of our sympathy.
