SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dean Schwartzkopf of rural Milan, who
4passed away on July 27, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dean Schwartzkopf was born on July 26, 1938 in
6Alexis; his parents were Earl Wesley and Edna Beatrice House
7Schwartzkopf; in 1962, he married Linda Tornes in Coal Valley;
8they divorced in 1982 but remained close friends over the
9years; and
 
10    WHEREAS, After graduating from Roseville High School in
111957, Dean Schwartzkopf served his country in the United States
12Army until 1959; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Dean Schwartzkopf worked at Alcoa in Bettendorf
14for over 33 years until his retirement in 2000; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Dean Schwartzkopf was knowledgeable in
16agricultural history and could talk for hours about tractors
17and farming; he had a love for antique tractors and was a
18member and President of the Edwards River Antique Tractor
19Association and Vice President of the newly formed Illinois
20Massey Collectors Association Chapter 8; he was also a member
21of the Maple City Antique Tractor Association, the Spoon River

1Antique Agricultural Association, and the Argyle Antique Gas
2Engine Association; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Dean Schwartzkopf enjoyed supporting Kevin Goben
4Racing at the local dirt track, attending Mallards hockey
5games, and NASCAR; he also loved attending family gatherings,
6visiting with people, and monthly get-togethers with his high
7school classmates; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Dean Schwartzkopf was preceded in death by his
9parents; a brother, Willard Schwartzkopf; a daughter, Dana
10Schwartzkopf; and a special great-niece, Renae Stevens; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Dean Schwartzkopf is survived by 2 sons, Jay and
12Paul Schwartzkopf; a grandson, Aaron Motsinger; 2
13great-grandchildren; a brother, Dale Schwartzkopf; 2 sisters,
14Betty Stevens and Marty Thurman; his ex-wife, Linda Barton; and
15many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
18family and friends, mourn the passing of Dean Schwartzkopf; and
19be it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Dean Schwartzkopf as an expression
