SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Elvira Elmore Charles, who passed away on May 8, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Elvira Charles was born on March 29, 1930 in Coraopolis, Pennsylvania; her parents were Charles Jennings Bryan and Julia Woods Elmore; and

WHEREAS, Elvira Charles graduated from St. Catherine's Academy; she subsequently attended the Kentucky College of Business; and

WHEREAS, Elvira Charles was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, John and Joseph Elmore and Julia Hamburg; and her daughter, Julie Woods Charles; and

WHEREAS, Elvira Charles is survived by her son, John Charles, and her many nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Elvira Elmore Charles; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Elvira Charles as an expression of our sympathy.
