SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael Lee Looker of Chatham, who passed away on January 6, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Michael Looker was born in Jacksonville on March 20, 1952 to Delbert Lee and Margaret Etheleen (nee Tannahill) Looker; he served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in 1974; he married Ellen K. Franke on May 17, 1982; and

WHEREAS, Michael Looker served with the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for 36 years, retiring in 2014; and

WHEREAS, Michael Looker was very active in the Chatham community with the Jaycees for 34 years, serving as their treasurer; he was a coach for the YBA and was an avid golfer and poker player; and

WHEREAS, Michael Looker was preceded in death by his father; and

WHEREAS, Michael Looker is survived by his wife, Ellen; his daughters, Sarah (Lucas) Turner, Amy (Matthew) Dahlkamp, and Michelle Leigh Looker; his grandchildren, Brady Michael Turner, Livi Kathryn Turner, Addison Dorothy Turner, Tinley Elle Dahlkamp, and a grandson on the way; his mother, Etheleen Duffy; his brothers, Gary (Terri) Looker and Danny (Kelly) Looker; his extended family of in-laws; his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Michael Lee Looker, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Michael Looker as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
