SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert B. Ash of Urbana, who passed away on April 15, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Bob Ash was born in New York City on May 20, 1935 to William and Rose (nee Fink) Ash; he married Carol Schwartz in New York City on January 29, 1956; and

WHEREAS, Bob Ash joined the mathematics department at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1963; he wrote 13 textbooks; and

WHEREAS, Bob Ash enjoyed learning in general and had most recently started studying physics; he also enjoyed jogging; and

WHEREAS, Bob Ash was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, Bob Ash is survived by his wife, Carol, and his brother, Charlie Ash; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert B. Ash, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bob Ash as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
