SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Geraldine L. Knutson of Harvard, who passed away on February 16, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Geraldine Knutson was born in Hermansville, Michigan on May 5, 1929 to John and Anna (nee Folich) Minerick; she married Robert Knutson on June 11, 1949; and

WHEREAS, Geraldine Knutson was an avid gardener and bird watcher, and was fond of sewing and needlework; she enjoyed traveling with her husband and relished her annual visit to the family farm in Hermansville; and

WHEREAS, Geraldine Knutson was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, John Minerick and Philip Minerick; and her brother-in-law, William Mitchell; and

WHEREAS, Geraldine Knutson is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert; her daughters, Carol, Laurie, and Susan Knutson; her sisters, Audrey Mitchell, Marjorie (William) Leathem, Helen (Robert) McKinnell, and Shirley (Norman) Schreiner; and her sister-in-law, Lois Minerick; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Geraldine L. Knutson, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Geraldine Knutson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
