SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Charles Couri of Peoria, who passed away on December 19, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Charles Couri was born on January 30, 1956 in Peoria; his parents were Anthony and Maureen (nee Williams) Couri; he married Jeni Abraham on July 15, 1984 in Peoria; and

WHEREAS, Charles Couri graduated from the Spalding Institute in Peoria in 1974; he subsequently earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Illinois State University and his Juris Doctorate from the Southern Illinois University School of Law; and

WHEREAS, Charles Couri was a partner in the law firm of Westervelt, Johnson, Nicoll, and Keller in Peoria; and

WHEREAS, Charles Couri was a member of St. Sharbel Catholic Church, Maronite Rite, in Peoria; and

WHEREAS, Charles Couri loved golf, cars, and woodworking; and

WHEREAS, Charles Couri was preceded in death by his father; and

WHEREAS, Charles Couri is survived by his wife, Jeni; his mother; a son, Christopher; a daughter, Allison; 5 brothers, Thomas (Angie) Couri, Dr. Gene (Gretta) Couri, Anthony (Mary Beth) Couri, Jr., Kenneth (Ilda) Couri, and Michael (Theresa) Couri; and 2 sisters, Mary (Gary) Burton and Margaret (John) Zdanowski; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Charles Couri; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Charles Couri as an expression of our sympathy.
