SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ruth T. (Clarkens) Nick of McHenry, who
4passed away on December 3, 2016, at the age of 91; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ruth Nick was born to William E. and Theresa
6(Betz) Clarkens on January 1, 1925; she married Raymond Nick at
7St. James Church in Arlington Heights on November 25, 1950; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Ruth Nick retired from Baxter Laboratories as a
9Laboratory Supervisor and was a member of the Baxter Alumni;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ruth Nick was a cherished member of Faith
12Evangelical Lutheran Church in Antioch and a volunteer for Head
13Start in Libertyville; she was very active in the Fox Lake
14Lions Club; she was the former chaplain, chairwoman of the
15Health and Welfare committee, co-chairwoman and organizer of
16the annual Flower Show, Lioness of the Year, and recipient of
17the 1984 Melvin Jones Award; she volunteered for the Lions
18Candy Day and Bingo; she enjoyed knitting, needlepoint,
19reading, and the occasional fishing trip; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Ruth Nick was preceded in death by her parents;
21her husband, Raymond; her sister, Alice Knaack; and her

1brothers-in-law, Clyde Canovi, Edward Glod, and Wade Winstead;
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, Ruth Nick is survived by her daughter, Patricia
4(William) Koznarski; her grandson, Richard Koznarski; her
5great-granddaughter, Jolyn Koznarski; her
6great-great-grandson, Ian Koznarski; her sisters, Irene
7Canovi, Shirley Glod, Bernice Winstead; her brother William F.
8Clarkens; and her many beloved nieces and nephews; therefore,
9be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
12family and friends, mourn the passing of Ruth T. Nick, and
13extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all
14who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Ruth Nick as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
