SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Rose Jeannette Heflin of Bunker Hill, who
4passed away on December 26, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rose Heflin was born in Lauderdale County,
6Tennessee to Adolphus H. and Bessie (Roy) Garrett on January
728, 1936; she married Albert E. Heflin in Meadowbrook on
8September 14, 1956; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Rose Heflin worked for Community Care in home
10healthcare in the Macoupin County area until her retirement;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Rose Heflin was a former member of Bethel Baptist
13in Staunton; she was a member of the TOPS Club in Bethalto and
14Carlinville; she enjoyed gardening, walking, canning, Uno, and
15dining out; she loved her cat, Amos, and enjoyed spending time
16with her grandchildren; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Rose Heflin was preceded in death by her husband,
18Albert; her parents; her daughters, Belinda Carol Heflin, and
19Pamela Denise Billings; and her siblings, Harry Garrett, Wilson
20Garrett, Jake Garrett, Marybe Hubbard, Shirley Schoeneweis,
21Pete Wiseman, Idell Haynes, and Elizabeth Vine; and

1    WHEREAS, Rose Heflin is survived by her children and their
2spouses, Sherry and Gary Boster, Cathy and David Harris, Jeff
3Heflin, and Bryan and Ashley Heflin; her grandchildren and
4their spouses, Bill and Aisha Boster, Debbie and Mike Newman,
5Amy and Jacob Morgan, David and Lisa Harris, Katelyn Harris,
6Cody Heflin, Wyatt Heflin, Maddie Heflin, Garrett Heflin,
7Briann Heflin, Ethan Morris, Braden Morris, Evan Morris, Lonnie
8and Paige Billings, Callie and Zach Marshall, Marshall and
9Jenny Billings, Seth Billings, and Ben Billings; 16
10great-grandchildren; and her siblings, James Ray Garrett and
11his wife, Janet, and Marie Sasser; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Rose Jeannette Heflin, and extend our sincere condolences to
15her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Rose Heflin as an expression of our
19deepest sympathy.
