SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Paul R. Vyncke of East Moline, who passed away on December 23, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Paul Vyncke was born in East Moline to Richard and Genevieve Schulte Vyncke on December 26, 1925; he graduated from United Township High School; he served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict; he married Marlowe Techlin on June 26, 1948 and was a civilian weapons repairman during the Vietnam War; and

WHEREAS, Paul Vyncke worked for the Army Weapons Command at the Rock Island Arsenal; he later retired from PECO Enterprises in Davenport, Iowa; and

WHEREAS, Paul Vyncke was a diehard fan of the Chicago Cubs and was thrilled to see them finally win the World Series; he loved to sing and enjoyed playing video poker at the casinos; he was a devoted father and grandfather and was proud of the fact that he had built summer homes in Minnesota and Arkansas for his family to enjoy; and

WHEREAS, Paul Vyncke was preceded in death by his wife, Marlowe; his daughter, Lori; his parents; his brothers, Leo and Joe; his great-grandson, Jordan Schmidt; and his son-in-law, Larry Hultgren; and

WHEREAS, Paul Vyncke is survived by his children, Carol Hultgren (Dennis Sellers), Alan (Peggy) Vyncke, Cindy (Bill) McMullen, Bruce (Becky) Vyncke, Rick (Kristy) Vyncke, and Paul D. Vyncke; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and his siblings, Bill (Ruth) Vyncke, Jim (Glenda) Vyncke, Wayne (Ruth Ann) Vyncke, Marlene (Mel) Gavin, and Luella Summers; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Paul R. Vyncke, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Paul Vyncke as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
