SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Otis Dean Cozad of Rock Island, who passed away on December 18, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Otis Cozad was born in Centerville, Iowa to Otis and Inez Owens Cozad on March 5, 1930; he served in the United States Army during the Korean War and married Ruth Swango in Las Vegas in 1957; and

WHEREAS, Otis Cozad owned and operated Cozad Auto in Davenport, Iowa; and

WHEREAS, Otis Cozad was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth; his sisters, Violet Stamos, and Nora Bain; and his brothers, Berdette and James Cozad; and

WHEREAS, Otis Cozad is survived by his son, David (Vicki) Cozad; his daughter, Brenda Cozad; two grandchildren; and his very special friend, Norma Kruse; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Otis Dean Cozad, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Otis Cozad as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
