SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael Lee Humphries of Milan, who passed away on December 14, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Michael Humphries was born in Rock Island to William and Helen Gannon Humphries on December 30, 1942; he served in the United States Army and Navy during the Vietnam War; and

WHEREAS, Michael Humphries worked out of Laborers' Local 309 in Rock Island; and

WHEREAS, Michael Humphries enjoyed golfing at Indian Bluff Golf Course and drinking coffee at the Milan Maid Rite with his buddies; he adored his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Michael Humphries was preceded in death by his father, William, and his very special aunt, Almeta Math; and

WHEREAS, Michael Humphries is survived by his mother, Helen Gannon; his sons, Kristin (Amy) and Jason Humphries; his grandchildren, Brennah, Joseph, Samuel, Haley, and Noah; his sister, Kay McNamee; his cousins, whom he considered his brothers, Dr. David, Mike, and Steve Gannon; and his best friend, Dennis Vacek; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Michael Lee Humphries, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Michael Humphries as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
