SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of John William Witt of Carlinville, who passed away on December 2, 2016; and

WHEREAS, John Witt was born in Tabor to Frank and Thora (Anderson) Witt on February 26, 1934; he graduated from Greenfield High School and served in the United States Army; he married Kathy Eichen at Memorial Christian Church in Carlinville on August 25, 1973; and

WHEREAS, John Witt was an auto body mechanic and a farmer; and

WHEREAS, John Witt attended St. Paul United Church of Christ and enjoyed restoring vehicles and toys; and

WHEREAS, John Witt was preceded in death by his parents; and

WHEREAS, John Witt is survived by his wife, Kathy; his daughters, Christina Witt, Julie (Michael) Wallis, and Kimberly (Jason) Hoesing; his son, Kenneth (Amanda) Witt; his grandchildren, PFC Evan Levinsky, Elyssa Levinsky, Michael Wallis, Andrew Wallis, Krysten Wallis, Michael Tripp, Brandon Swarringih, Michelyn Wallis, William Hoesing, Matthew Witt, and Emily Witt; his great-grandson, Adein Wallis; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of John William Witt, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John William Witt as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
