SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Michael Gutterridge, who passed away on July 8, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Michael Gutterridge served as business manager of Gutterridge Harley Davidson in Tilton for six years; in 1979, he bought the family business from his parents, who moved the operation to College Street in 1958; and

WHEREAS, Michael Gutterridge was an active member of his community; he was a life member of the American Motorcycle Association, an honorary lifetime member of the Illinois Motorcycle Dealers Association, and a member of the Olive Branch Masonic Temple, Eastern Star, and the Gao Grotto; and

WHEREAS, Michael Gutterridge had a lifelong love of motorcycles; he loved and was very involved in numerous Illinois Motorcycle Dealers Association races and events, especially the Springfield Mile; and

WHEREAS, Michael Gutterridge was preceded in death by his parents, Jake and Ruth Gutterridge; and

WHEREAS, Michael Gutterridge is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Beth" Gutterridge; his sons, Troy and Roger Gutterridge; his grandson, Jacob Gutterridge; and his many friends and fellow Harley riders; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Michael Gutterridge; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Michael Gutterridge as an expression of our sympathy.
