SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William J. Smith of Villa Park, who passed away on October 30, 2016 at the age of 84; and

WHEREAS, William Smith served in the United States Navy during the Korean War; and

WHEREAS, William Smith served as Chaplain of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2801 in Villa Park; and

WHEREAS, William Smith was the beloved husband of 58 years of Arlene; the loving father of Suzanne Smith and Kevin (the late Diana) Smith; the dearest grandfather of Laura and Brandon; the dear brother of the late George (Ana), Donald (Dorothy), and Robert Smith; and the cherished uncle and great-uncle of many; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of William J. Smith; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of William Smith as an expression of our sympathy.
