SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Clifford G. "Cliff" Evenson, who passed away on October 12, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Clifford Evenson was born to Clarence and Grace (Hofas) Evenson in Chicago on February 25, 1923; he served in World War II and was honorably discharged from the United States Army as a Technician Fourth Grade; he married Mary Anderson on January 3, 1943 and they settled in Des Plaines in a home that he built himself; and

WHEREAS, Clifford Evenson and his wife enjoyed traveling around the country in their motor home; and

WHEREAS, Clifford Evenson was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Emma (Lundberg); his wife of 65 years Mary; his son, Glenn; his brothers, Gale, and Clarence Jr.; and his sister, Kathryn (Golden); and

WHEREAS, Clifford Evenson is survived by his daughter, Susan (Robert) Sobanski; his daughter-in-law, Diana Evenson Gowdy; his grandchildren, Barbara Jackson, Brian Sobanski, Jason (Staci) Evenson, Jennifer (Michael) Freund, and Justin (Heather) Evenson; and eight great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Clifford G. "Cliff" Evenson, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Clifford Evenson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
