SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Louis Anthony Oldani of Springfield, who
4passed away on October 24, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Louis Oldani was born on December 5, 1930; his
6parents were James Louis and Valda Oldani; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Louis Oldani was a graduate of Blessed Sacrament
8Grade School, Cathedral Boys High School in 1948, and St.
9Ambrose University in 1952; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Louis Oldani served as a First Lieutenant in the
11United States Air Force as a radar observer for the F-89; he
12was stationed in Waco, Texas, Truax Air Base in Madison,
13Wisconsin, and Ladd Air Force Base in Fairbanks, Alaska; he
14also served his country proudly as a member of the 433rd
15Fighter Squadron (Satan's Angels) during the Korean Conflict;
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, Louis Oldani retired from the Pekin Insurance
18Company after 23 years of dedicated service as a Regional Sales
19Manager; he obtained his Chartered Life Underwriter and Life
20Underwriter Training Council Fellow designations while
21employed with Pekin Insurance; and

1    WHEREAS, Louis Oldani was an avid sports fan and a die-hard
2Giants fan; he also enjoyed watching his granddaughters'
3sporting events and spending time with his family; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Louis Oldani was preceded in death by his parents;
5his baby sister, Jeanette; and his sister, Norma Gvasdinskas;
6and
 
7    WHEREAS, Louis Oldani is survived by his wife, Carole; his
8son, Mark (Theresa) Oldani; his daughters, Mary Anne Oldani and
9Jamie Oldani; his granddaughters, Maria and Gabrielle Oldani
10and Kathryn Dresser; his brother, James Oldani; his sisters,
11Audrey Dye and Shirley Oldani; and many nieces, nephews, and
12cousins; therefore, be it
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
14ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
15family and friends, mourn the passing of Louis Anthony Oldani;
16and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Louis Oldani as an expression of our
19sympathy.
