SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ralph L. O'Brien of Huntley, who passed away on September 18, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Ralph O'Brien was born on February 19, 1931 in Chicago; his parents were Ralph and Mildred O'Brien; he married Eileen Marie McHale in 1957; and

WHEREAS, Ralph O'Brien served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955; and

WHEREAS, Ralph O'Brien worked for Illinois Bell/AT&T for many years until his retirement; and

WHEREAS, Ralph O'Brien enjoyed traveling, Sudoku puzzles, and attending his grandchildren's activities; and

WHEREAS, Ralph O'Brien is preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Raymond and Eileen McHale; and

WHEREAS, Ralph O'Brien is survived by his wife, Eileen; his children, Kevin (Lou Ann) O'Brien, Terrence O'Brien, Mary (John) Smerecky, Wendy (Timothy) Papka, and Kristie (Leonard) Scarpelli; his grandchildren, Devin, Tyler, Kevin, Michael, Erin, John, Teagan, Jake, Kyle, Francesco, Leonard, Dominic, and Anthony; his sisters, Joan Fernandes and Carolyn (Robert) Marek; his brother, William O'Brien; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Ralph L. O'Brien; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ralph O'Brien as an expression of our sympathy.
