SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Harold S. Gunnerson of East Moline, who passed away on October 4, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Harold Gunnerson was born on December 7, 1924 in Moline; his parents were Arthur and Hazel Loding Gunnerson; he married Betty J. Groth on December 15, 1946 in Moline; and

WHEREAS, Harold Gunnerson proudly served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Harold Gunnerson farmed in the Alpha area in his younger years; he later worked in maintenance for Deere and Company in Moline until his retirement in 1987; and

WHEREAS, Harold Gunnerson was a member of the Thor Lodge #9 Independent Order of Vikings in Moline; and

WHEREAS, Harold Gunnerson enjoyed woodworking and was very skilled with making beautiful hutches and cabinets; and

WHEREAS, Harold Gunnerson was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; his daughter-in-law, Vicki Gunnerson; and his brothers, Arthur and Dale Gunnerson; and

WHEREAS, Harold Gunnerson is survived by his son, Jerry Gunnerson; his grandson, Seth Gunnerson; his sister, Carol Spore; and his brother, Richard (Lovadee) Gunnerson; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Harold S. Gunnerson; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Harold Gunnerson as an expression of our sympathy.
