SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Peter Durry of Moline, who passed away on September 16, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Peter Durry was born on November 8, 1945 in Marie, Arkansas; his parents were Walter and Viola Smith Durry; he married Margaret Fulscher-Takantjas on October 25, 1980 in Davenport, Iowa; and

WHEREAS, Peter Durry was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving from 1963 to 1967; and

WHEREAS, Peter Durry earned his master's degree in social work at the University of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Peter Durry was a licensed clinical social worker at the VA hospital in Danville; and

WHEREAS, Peter Durry was a history buff and enjoyed working on improvement projects around the house, his retirement, and spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, Peter Durry was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Nicholas; and

WHEREAS, Peter Durry is survived by his wife, Margaret Durry; his children, Eileen (Steven) Pyevich, Jim Takantjas, Tina Strieder, Melissa Swift, Christina (Tom) McCormick, Alex (Edith) Takantjas, and Michael Durry; 12 grandchildren; and his siblings, Mary (Earl) Fredrich, Paul (Terry) Durry, and Patricia Durry; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Peter Durry; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Peter Durry as an expression of our sympathy.
