SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Kenneth Allen Whitney, who passed away at the age of 59; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Whitney was born on August 7, 1957 in Chicago; his parents were Gloria and Clifton Collins; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Whitney attended Amos A. Stagg Elementary School and Calumet High School; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Whitney enjoyed music, particularly the Commodores and Earth, Wind, and Fire; he enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears and spending time with his grandchildren; he was also known as a jack of all trades who was talented with home repairs, plumbing, and painting; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Whitney was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Michael; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Whitney is survived by his children, DeAngelo and Charlotta; his sisters, Karen and Dianna; his grandchildren, Dimante, Diamond, Devonte, Derrick, Avonte, Alexis, Ceonte, Kiarri, and Kenya; his nephew, Tyresius; his nieces, Angela and Joyce; many cousins, other family members, and friends; and his special friend, Diane; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Kenneth Allen Whitney; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kenneth Whitney as an expression of our sympathy.
