SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Kenneth E. Link, Sr., who passed away on September 25, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Link, Sr. was born on September 10, 1944 in Warren County; his parents were Ralph Jr. and Mildred Chick Link; he married Frances E. Young on April 23, 1968 in Aledo; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Link, Sr. attended Sherrard High School; in 1965, he was drafted into the United States Army, serving in Germany until 1967; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Link, Sr. was employed at Civil Constructors in East Moline and Langman Construction in Rock Island for many years; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Link, Sr. was a member of Teamsters Local No. 371 and a 48-year member of Laborers Local No. 309; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Link, Sr. loved listening to country music, especially his friend David Church, mowing the farm, tinkering with his equipment, and spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Link, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lois Brammer; and

WHEREAS, Kenneth Link, Sr. is survived by his wife, Frances; his son, Kenneth Link, Jr.; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Brayden Link; his former daughter-in-law, Barbara Link; his sister, Janet Mitchell; his brother, Hank (Mary) Link; his sister-in-law, Judy Willis; two uncles; one aunt; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, including a special niece, Carey (Andrew) Bancroft and their daughters, Elizabeth and Allison; his special friends, Laurence and Roberta Ward and Helen Carlson; and his cat, George; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Kenneth E. Link, Sr.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Kenneth Link, Sr. as an expression of our sympathy.
