SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Calvin K. Jensen of Milan, who passed away on August 29, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Calvin Jensen was born in Benton County, Iowa to Cal and Sara (Meskmen) Jensen on September 11, 1923; and

WHEREAS, During World War II, Calvin Jensen few 32 missions in a B-24 in bombardier group 467; he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross Air-Medal with 3 Oak Clusters and a Certificate of Valor; he retired from the National Guard helicopter unit in Mount Joy; and

WHEREAS, Calvin Jensen held several different jobs at the Rock Island Arsenal; he repaired electric loaders, was a train engineer, and a crane operator; and

WHEREAS, Calvin Jensen enjoyed golf, walking the Milan dike with his dog, and bird watching; and

WHEREAS, Calvin Jensen was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jensen; his parents; his daughters, Billie Hayward and Robyn Jensen; his sister, Lillian Fergusen; and his brother, Robert Jensen; and

WHEREAS, Calvin Jensen is survived by his son, Cal Jensen; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; his brother, Bill Jensen; and his care-provider, Amber Matter; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Calvin K. Jensen, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Calvin Jensen as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
