SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joy D. Pahl of Woodstock, who passed away on August 6, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Joy Pahl was born in Cicero to Joseph and Eleanor (Pfeifer) Vesely on February 23, 1936; she attended Morton High School, where she was crowned Miss Morton in 1953, her senior year; she married Rudolph E. Pahl in Berwyn on February 26, 1955; and

WHEREAS, After raising her family, Joy Pahl worked for District 200 in the printing department; later, she taught water aerobics at the Woodstock Recreation Center and at Healthbridge; and

WHEREAS, Joy Pahl enjoyed gardening and square dancing with the Harvard Milk Center Squares; and

WHEREAS, Joy Pahl was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mae Pfeifer; her parents; and her granddaughter, Josie Baloun; and

WHEREAS, Joy Pahl is survived by her husband of 61 years, Rudy; her children, Katherine (Jim) Potts, Steve (Kim) Pahl, and Krista (Michael) Baloun; her grandchildren, Michael (Jessica) Potts, Matthew Potts, Steven, Dan, and Kaitlyn Pahl, and Jack and William Baloun; her great-grandchildren, Jaidyn, Lilyan, and Elliott; and her aunt, Lorraine Suster; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Joy D. Pahl, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joy Pahl as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
