| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | 3 | | learn of the death of William E. "Billy" Ackley of Moline, who | 4 | | passed away on August 14, 2016; and
| 5 | | WHEREAS, William Ackley was born on March 5, 1948 in | 6 | | Davenport, Iowa; his parents were Edward B. and Eleanor Payson | 7 | | Ackley; he married Gloria Prieto on August 6, 1977 in Moline; | 8 | | and
| 9 | | WHEREAS, William Ackley was a United States Marine Corps | 10 | | veteran; and
| 11 | | WHEREAS, William Ackley worked as a bricklayer in his | 12 | | younger years; he later worked as a maintenance supervisor at | 13 | | the former Trinity Medical Centers for 29 years in both Moline | 14 | | and Rock Island; and
| 15 | | WHEREAS, William Ackley was a former runner who | 16 | | participated in the inaugural Bix 7; he played softball and | 17 | | racquetball as a young adult; he was the treasurer of a league | 18 | | and an avid bowler at Highland Park Bowl in Moline for over 30 | 19 | | years; and | 20 | | WHEREAS, William Ackley enjoyed his yearly fishing trips to |

| 1 | | Canada, riding his Harley Davidson, watching the Chicago White | 2 | | Sox and the Detroit Lions, and spending time with his family; | 3 | | and
| 4 | | WHEREAS, William Ackley was preceded in death by his | 5 | | parents; and
| 6 | | WHEREAS, William Ackley is survived by his wife, Gloria; | 7 | | his daughters, Gina (Martin) Bundy and Felicia Van Hyfte; his | 8 | | grandchildren, Tyler James, Austin Andre, Taylor Jean, Mariah | 9 | | Michelle, and Colton Michael; and his brother, Donald Ackley; | 10 | | therefore, be it
| 11 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | 12 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | 13 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of William E. "Billy" | 14 | | Ackley; and be it further
