SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Frank E. Hewitt of Peoria, who passed away on August 15, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Frank Hewitt was born in Peoria to Frank and Nancy (Embree) Hewitt on February 1, 1939; he graduated from Peoria Central High School in 1957; he earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University and his Master of Science in Engineering Management from Bradley University; he married Cathy Hartwig in Peoria on October 7, 1977; and

WHEREAS, Frank Hewitt worked as the City Engineer for the City of Peoria for 42 years, retiring in 2008; and

WHEREAS, Frank Hewitt served as the President of the Board of Local Improvements; he was an avid Bradley basketball fan; he enjoyed participating in dog shows showing and breeding St. Bernards and was President of the St. Bernard Club of Greater St. Louis; and

WHEREAS, Frank Hewitt is survived by his wife, Cathy; his children, Lisa Hewitt, David (Michelle) Hewitt, Caryn Kamp, and Kyle Hewitt; and his grandchildren, Skylar Hewitt and Cohlson Kamp; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Frank E. Hewitt, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Frank Hewitt as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
