SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Hope Jovicin of Richton Park, who passed away on July 18, 2016; and

WHEREAS, Hope Jovicin was an active member of the Human Relations Commission; and

WHEREAS, Hope Jovicin served as the Resident Representative for Park Towers Annual Resident Appreciation Picnic; she was an Associate Member of the Senior Citizen Advisory Committee; and

WHEREAS, Hope Jovicin was a vital member of the "Collation to do Good" to help bring relief to orphans in Jeremie, Haiti on the "Fill the Bus" project; she was an advocate for the Cat Island Sister City Project and became a member of the Sister City Committee; she was an advocate for the annual "I Make A Difference" awards ceremony and the Neighbor to Neighbor Dinners hosted at Park Towers; and

WHEREAS, Hope Jovicin was recognized and awarded a certificate for the Age Options Volunteer Awards Luncheon, which connects older adults with community-based resources and options; she received an award for the annual "I Make A Difference" ceremony and was selected as Unsung Heroine of Cook County 6th District; and

WHEREAS, Hope Jovicin was selected as the 2013 Richton Park Citizen of the Year; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Hope Jovicin, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Hope Jovicin as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
